North Korea has strongly criticized the United Nations Security Council for convening a meeting to discuss its recent intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test. According to state media, North Korea affirmed its determination to pursue “the most overwhelming” nuclear deterrence as long as the United States maintains its hostile policy towards Pyongyang.
The Security Council, consisting of 15 members, gathered following North Korea’s announcement that it successfully tested its latest ICBM, known as the Hwasong-18, on Wednesday. The launch has raised concerns and prompted international discussions regarding North Korea’s missile capabilities and the overall security situation in the region.
