A tragic incident unfolded in Nepean on Thursday as a 15-year-old boy, critically injured in a stabbing, succumbed to his injuries, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) confirmed on Sunday. The victim, a student from Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School, remains unnamed at the family’s request.
The OCDSB expressed profound sadness at the loss, emphasizing the impact on both the family and the school community. A Tragic Events Response Team has been deployed to provide support and resources to staff and students affected by the devastating event.
The stabbing occurred in the 100 block of Constellation Drive, near the Mary Pitt Centre, shortly before noon. Ottawa police continue their investigation into the incident, with witnesses recounting an altercation among teenagers preceding the violence.
