Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has strongly criticized recent statements from government ministers and the prime minister regarding captives, urging an end to such announcements and threats. Lapid emphasized the need for the government to prioritize efforts to bring the captives home, accusing Netanyahu’s administration of neglecting this responsibility.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh also pointed fingers at Netanyahu, accusing him of hindering efforts to reach a truce. According to reports from The New York Times, both an Israeli official speaking anonymously and Hamas senior official Mousa Abu Marzouk blamed Netanyahu for stalling truce negotiations.
In response, Netanyahu’s office vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as “complete lies.”
