A Mississauga father, James Duncan, has raised concerns after making an unsettling discovery in his daughter’s McDonald’s Happy Meal on February 9. The incident occurred shortly after the family visited the McDonald’s located at 1829 Lakeshore Road West in Toronto.
According to Duncan, his two daughters found a bone in one of the McNuggets while eating their meals. The father recounted the incident, stating that his daughter had bitten into the chicken, only to find a roughly inch-long bone. To make matters worse, the bone came into contact with her loose tooth, causing further distress.
Surprised and concerned, Duncan attempted to contact McDonald’s customer service without success. When he finally reached out to the Lakeshore location, he was asked to bring the bone in for analysis. The staff also offered a replacement pack of nuggets, which Duncan declined, expressing his disappointment.
Despite filling out a survey on the back of his receipt and providing photos and videos of the bone, Duncan claimed that he had not received any response from McDonald’s corporate team nearly a week later.
In response to the incident, Larry McCormick, the franchise owner of the Lakeshore McDonald’s, emphasized the establishment’s commitment to safety and customer well-being. McCormick assured that they are actively investigating the matter and will take appropriate steps to address the issue.
James Duncan, while expressing disappointment, noted that everyone in his family is physically okay, counting their blessings despite the unexpected and unsettling discovery in the Happy Meal.
