Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has rewritten the record books on Spotify and other major music streaming platforms.
“History made! On April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was the first album in Spotify history to amass over 300 million streams in a single day,” Spotify proudly announced on Saturday via X.
However, the accolades didn’t stop there. Swift’s 11th studio album achieved several other remarkable feats on Spotify within just 24 hours of its release on Friday.
The album’s lead single, “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, clinched the title of the most-streamed song in a single day, further solidifying Swift’s dominance on the platform.
Even before its official release, “The Tortured Poets Department” made waves by becoming the most pre-saved album on Countdown Pages, a feature on Spotify that enables users to preview track lists ahead of an album’s launch.
Swift’s reign on Spotify is nothing new, as she had previously clinched records for the most-streamed album in a single day and the most-streamed artist in a single day with the release of “Midnights” in October 2022.
Beyond Spotify, Swift’s latest masterpiece also left an indelible mark on other leading music streaming platforms. “The Tortured Poets Department” shattered records on Apple Music, earning the title of the biggest pop album of all time by first-day streams. Furthermore, it swiftly rose to become the most-streamed album on Amazon Music ever within its inaugural day.
Swift’s unrivaled success with “The Tortured Poets Department” underscores her enduring influence and unmatched prowess in the music industry.
