A vehicle caught fire on the tarmac of Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport in Montreal on Sunday afternoon, prompting the response of local firefighters. The incident occurred underneath an airplane at approximately 3:25 p.m.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and authorities were able to bring the fire under control in less than 30 minutes. According to a spokesperson, the fire originated in the engine of the vehicle. The incident did not cause any flight delays, ensuring that operations at the airport remained unaffected.
Anne Marcotte, the spokesperson, assured that the situation was under control. On social media, Emma Hines, who witnessed the incident, shared a video of the fire and expressed her eagerness to return home after experiencing several delays earlier in the day.
Another traveler, Ergun Calisgan, mentioned that he was on a plane parked at the back and reassured that no injuries were observed. He stated that the entire plane witnessed the incident unfold.
Thanks to the swift response of firefighters, the fire was contained, preventing any further escalation or damage.
