The two children who were the subjects of an Amber Alert issued about 10 days ago in British Columbia have been located safely, according to the RCMP.
On Saturday evening, the RCMP confirmed that the children were found safe and are now being reunited with their family after allegedly being abducted by their mother earlier in the month.
Cpl. Vanessa Munn, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the public, media, and policing partners, all of whom played a crucial role in helping to locate the children safely.
The amber alert was issued on July 19 for an eight-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother, who were last seen in Kelowna, B.C. Authorities believed that their mother had taken them to live off-grid in a rural area with her boyfriend.
During the course of the investigation, police were also searching for the children’s maternal grandfather, who was driving a distinctively recognizable van with its steering wheel on the right-hand side.
