Actor Darren Kent, renowned for his role as a goatherder in “Game of Thrones” and other works, has sadly passed away.
The announcement was made by his agency, Carey Dodd Associates, based in London, who shared the news on social media in the early hours of Tuesday.
“It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the peaceful passing of our dear friend and client Darren Kent on Friday. He was surrounded by his parents and best friend. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family during this challenging time. Rest in peace, my friend,” the agency’s statement read.
The agency’s Instagram post further expressed, “Darren was not only a gifted actor, director, and writer but also one of the most genuinely kind individuals I have ever had the privilege to meet. It has been an honor and pleasure to be a part of his journey.”
Samantha Dodd, spokesperson for the agency, confirmed Kent’s age at the time of his passing to CNN. However, no specific cause of death was disclosed.
Kent is most notably recognized for his portrayal as a goatherder in a memorable episode of the hit TV series “Game of Thrones” in 2014. His initial screen credit dates back a decade prior in the original series “Shameless.”
Kent’s filmography includes roles in various productions, such as the 2008 horror film “Mirrors,” starring Kiefer Sutherland, and the 2012 movie “Snow White and the Huntsman.” In the realm of television, he graced screens in “Community” and the BBC’s series “EastEnders.”
Recently, Kent took on the part of the ‘Yes’ Corpse in the 2023 film “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” Notably, his IMDb page reveals that he was involved in the development of six upcoming projects, encompassing several short films and the feature “What I Know.”
