As a result of the fire, significant traffic disruptions are anticipated, with the closure of Clarendon St in both directions and the suspension of Line 12 tram services that pass through South Melbourne. Melburnians are strongly advised to avoid the affected area.
In response to the situation, the FRV (Fire Rescue Victoria) has issued an alert to residents in Albert Park, Docklands, Melbourne, Port Melbourne, South Melbourne, South Wharf, and Southbank. While there is currently no immediate threat to the community, individuals are encouraged to remain informed and stay vigilant regarding the evolving conditions.
Furthermore, residents residing in high-rise apartments within the vicinity are advised to take precautionary measures by closing doors and windows to prevent smoke from entering their premises.
