DORSET, VT. – Vermont State Police announced that the driver involved in the crash that resulted in the death of actor Treat Williams will be charged with gross negligence. According to the investigation, which concluded the incident on June 12 in Dorset, a vehicle unexpectedly pulled in front of Williams while he was riding a motorcycle, and he was unable to avoid the collision.
The driver, identified as Ryan Koss, 35, of Dorset, received a citation on Tuesday evening for grossly negligent operation causing death. He has been released and is scheduled to appear in court in September to face formal charges.
As of now, it is uncertain whether Koss has legal representation, and he has not responded to inquiries seeking comment.
Richard Treat Williams, aged 71, from Manchester Center, tragically passed away at Albany Medical Center in New York as a result of the crash.
Treat Williams had an illustrious career spanning nearly five decades, with prominent roles in the TV series “Everwood” and the film “Hair.” He graced more than 120 TV and film roles, including notable appearances in movies such as “The Eagle Has Landed,” “Prince of the City,” and “Once Upon a Time in America.”
