DELANO, CALIF. – Actor Danny Masterson from “That ’70s Show” is now serving his sentence for two rape convictions in a California state prison. Masterson, 47, has been admitted to North Kern State Prison, and his initial prison mug shot has been released, depicting him in orange attire with long hair and a beard.
In June, Masterson was found guilty of raping two women at his Los Angeles residence in 2003. In September, a judge sentenced him to 30 years to life behind bars. Following the sentencing, his wife, actor Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce after nearly 12 years of marriage.
Masterson spent the intervening months in Los Angeles County jail while post-sentencing hearings took place, addressing various issues, including the surrender of all his owned firearms, some of which had to be located.
Parole eligibility for Masterson is more than 25 years away.
Despite the conviction, Masterson’s legal team intends to appeal the decision.
