Authorities have activated an Amber Alert for two young children who are believed to have been abducted after a vacation in B.C.’s Okanagan region.
The missing children, identified as 8-year-old Aurora Bolton and 10-year-old Joshuah Bolton, were visiting the Kelowna area with their mother, 45-year-old Verity Bolton. After the vacation, they were supposed to return to their father but have not done so.
According to the Kelowna RCMP, the last sighting of the mother and children was on June 30 at a restaurant in downtown Kelowna. The Surrey RCMP received the report of the children’s disappearance on Tuesday, and since then, there has been no contact with them.
The alleged abduction occurred at Krafty Kitchen + Bar, and the mother may be transporting the children in a blue 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab pickup truck with B.C. license plate SJ2708.
Originally planning to go camping in the area, the group never arrived at the campground, and their booking was canceled. It remains uncertain whether they are still in Kelowna or have traveled elsewhere in the province.
Police expressed concerns about Verity’s mental health and her ability to care for the children, emphasizing that they believe the children are at risk.
Aurora Bolton is described as approximately 55 lbs., 3’11” tall, with brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair, possibly styled in braids. She has a chipped front tooth, small freckles on her face, and was last seen wearing a blue dress adorned with colored flowers.
Joshuah Bolton is described as approximately 70 lbs., 4’10” tall, with brown eyes and short-to-medium length brown hair in a grown-out buzz cut. He was last seen wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
Authorities are urging anyone who spots the family not to approach them but to immediately call 911 with any relevant information. The search for the missing children and their mother is ongoing, and public cooperation is vital in ensuring their safe return.
