The entertainment industry mourns the loss of a talented actress.
Andrea Evans, known for her roles in popular soap operas such as One Life to Live, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Passions, has passed away at the age of 66. Her manager, Nick Leicht, confirmed the news of her death, stating that she had been bravely battling cancer. Leicht described Evans as a tremendous talent and a joy to work with during their seven-year collaboration.
Publicist Clint Morris also expressed sadness over Evans’ passing, praising her as an incredible talent and a wonderful person who always prioritized her family. Morris added that another angel had been recruited.
Evans rose to fame in 1978 with her portrayal of Tina Lord on One Life to Live. Although the character was temporarily recast with other actresses, Evans returned to the show in 1985 and received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1988 for her performance.
During the 1990s, Evans took a break from the series due to a stalker, a traumatic experience that had a lasting impact on her life. She later revealed that the incident had forever changed her.
In addition to One Life to Live, Evans showcased her talent in various soap operas, playing characters like Patti Weaver on The Young and the Restless, Tawny Moore on The Bold and the Beautiful, Rebecca Hotchkiss on Passions, and Patty Walker on The Bay. She also made appearances in films such as A Low Down Dirty Shame, Ice Cream Man, and Hit List.
Evans had recently completed her memoir, titled My One Life to Live, which is scheduled for release posthumously.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Rodriguez, her daughter, Kylie, and their dog, Mila. Rodriguez described Evans as a remarkable individual, praising her strength, positivity, and indomitable spirit throughout her battle with cancer. Kylie expressed her immeasurable loss and shared how her mother’s strength and joy in life had left a lasting impact.
According to Don Carroll, Evans’ former manager, the actress cherished her role as a mother above all else. He revealed that Evans’ happiest moments were spent at Disneyland with her daughter, Kylie, wearing no makeup, with her hair in pigtails and a ballcap on her head.
