Jackson Price, a six-year-old from St. John’s, Newfoundland, is making waves for his heartwarming acts of kindness. Featured in local newspapers, on TV, and even invited to speak at a university group, Jackson has garnered attention for his selfless deeds since September.
This young philanthropist has been delivering sandwiches, cold plates, hot chocolates, and soups to vulnerable populations in St. John’s. Currently, he’s focused on creating Christmas cards with his family to distribute on Christmas Day.
The inspiration behind Jackson’s compassionate efforts arose from a poignant question about the tents in a homeless encampment along a St. John’s road. When Jackson learned that people were staying in tents because they had no homes, he expressed a desire to make sandwiches for the homeless.
Since then, Jackson, along with his family, has delivered cold plate meals to 14 people in downtown St. John’s and prepared 20 meals for those near the Colonial Building. Supported by his older sister, who organizes online fundraising, as well as his parents, Jackson’s efforts have earned him recognition from peers and family friends.
During a speech at Memorial University, Jackson received a pleasant surprise—an entire book of stickers and $87 for his next charitable cause. When asked about his motivation, Jackson simply said, “Because I wanted to help.”
