In a developing case, the class action lawsuit against Future Electronics Inc. and Montreal billionaire Robert Miller has taken a significant turn. Two new defendants have been added to the lawsuit, and a shocking 28 more women have come forward with allegations of sexual exploitation during their underage years.
According to the court documents filed on August 4, the suit has been expanded to include not only the new defendants, Sam Joseph Abrams and alleged “matchmaker” Raymond Poulet, but also these additional 28 women, all of whom were minors at the time of the alleged offenses.
The allegations against Robert Miller are deeply troubling. It is claimed that he orchestrated a system where he paid minors for sexual services over a period from 1992 to 2012. The court document suggests that many women have contacted the Class Counsel expressing that they had been paid (in both money and gifts) for sexual services by Miller while they were underage.
One victim’s account describes Miller inviting her and a friend to the Intercontinental Hotel, where he allegedly engaged in sexual activities with her without protection. The affidavit highlights that Miller showed the victim a negative HIV test, which adds a disturbing layer to the allegations.
Another victim’s experience was equally distressing. She was shown a negative HIV test, but she became suspicious when she noticed a different name on the test. This experience had severe negative psychological effects on her, leading to feelings of shame, guilt, depression, and self-medication with drugs and alcohol.
The class action lawsuit contends that Miller used the alias “Bob Adams” to conceal his identity and pretended to be living in the U.S. The lawsuit also mentions that Poulet used a false business card with the name “Sebastien Tremblay” from Hollywood, California.
The alleged encounters took place at various hotels and private residences in Westmount, and Miller is claimed to have given the girls cash at the end of each encounter.
It’s important to note that these allegations have not yet been proven in court, and the class action still awaits authorization by a judge. Robert Miller has vehemently denied all allegations and has stepped down from his positions as president and CEO of Future Electronics.
