A significant earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred near the coastal region of Chiapas in Mexico on Friday, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).
Fortunately, the state’s civil protection authorities confirmed that no immediate reports of material damage, injuries, or fatalities have been received thus far.
The earthquake had a focal depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), as reported by GFZ.
